In Latin America about 90% of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s) consider that digitalization is relevant for their businesses, revealed the Digital Adoption Survey 2023 conducted by Movistar Enterprises.

This result means a 10-percentage point increase compared to 2022.

Furthermore, 95% of SME’s plan to invest in their digital transformation, representing a 4-percentage point rise from the previous year.

“Movistar Enterprises has the commitment to accelerate the SME’s digital transformation. We will continue to strengthen our portfolio with digital online services related to cybersecurity, cloud and Internet of Things, supported by a high-performance connectivity and accompanying SME’s to help them in the use of the digital word in their operations”, expressed Carolina Navarrete, Director of B2B Marketing at Telefónica Hispanoamérica.

Currently, 31% of SME’s have already implemented digital initiatives, while 56% recognize the significant benefits associated with adopting digital solutions, such as improved productivity and increased sales.

However, it’s worth noting that 68% of SME’s face obstacles in adopting digital solutions, with a lack of knowledge and expert personnel being the primary barriers.

Given the rising number of cybersecurity incidents, 84% of surveyed companies believe that protective measures against vulnerabilities and threats must be reinforced.

Six out of 10 SME’s prioritize awareness and training over investing in cybersecurity solutions to avoid falling into cyber traps, according to the Survey.
